Lifestyle design

What a curious term: Lifestyle Design. It was recently introduced to me by an audiobook I am listening to:

The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss.

The idea behind lifestyle design is really lifestyle modification and defying the status quo. Rather than working yourself to death to (hopefully) retire some day, then enjoy life; lifestyle design is getting your time back. Leveraging time and mobility to free yourself from 9-5 drudgery; taking mini-retirements periodically rather than saving up your time and money for a (supposed) payoff date in the future when you will start living your life.
Whether or not I can pull off the life Tim Ferriss describes, only time will tell. One thing, however, is painfully clear: living life now is the goal, and I aim to do just that. The living death that is my 9-5 must come to an end, and the thoughts and ideas in this book are a great start!

I plan to keep updating my progress, and I encourage you to take a look at this book.
